Kuwait Pillars Financial Investment Company (KPFI) was originally established as Strategia Investment on January 3, 1998. The company underwent an official name change on November 17, 2016, approved by the Extraordinary General Assembly held on October 4, 2016. Initially, it operated as a real estate department under Kuwait and Middle East Financial Investment Company, a leading company listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange.
The transformation of KPFI began with the separation of its real estate department into an independent real estate company. The shareholders of the company decided to change its legal entity from a real estate company to an investment company, offering a wide range of investment services and products. Consequently, the company's capital was increased from KD 10 million to KD 15,000,000. This capital is distributed over 150,000,000 shares, each with a nominal value of 100 fils.
KPFI's capital was subsequently increased through bonus share distributions to shareholders in 2007 and 2008, reaching KD 17,577,000. On December 3, 2008, after fulfilling all listing requirements, KPFI became a listed company on the Kuwait Stock Exchange, adding another dimension to its asset management and investment capabilities. Following accumulated financial losses in 2010, the company initially increased its capital and later decreased it back to KD 15 million in 2013. However, KPFI successfully achieved a 100% increase in its capital to KD 30 million. As of June 30, 2016, KPFI had increased its capital once again to KD 50,000,000, divided into 500,000,000 shares with a nominal value of 100 fils each. The company managed assets worth $141 million for clients, institutions, and individuals.
KPFI was listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange on December 3, 2008. However, on March 1, 2016, the company voluntarily withdrew from the exchange based on the approval of its extraordinary general assembly in 2015, as well as the approval of the Capital Markets Authority.
KPFI operates as an investment company supervised by the Capital Markets Authority of Kuwait and is also subject to the oversight of the Central Bank of Kuwait for its financing activities.
