NBK Capital (Watani investment Company) held its Extraordinary General Assembly on April 20, 2025, during which shareholders approved the addition of a new licensed activity—Securities Brokerage Registered on Boursa Kuwait—to the company's list of permitted business activities.
As part of this decision, amendments were approved to Article (5) of the company’s Memorandum of incorporation and Article (4) of its Articles of Association to reflect the updated objectives. The revised company purposes now include:
- Collective investment scheme management.
- Investment portfolio management.
- IPO underwriting agent.
- Investment advisor.
- Unlicensed securities brokerage.
- Licensed securities brokerage on the stock exchange.
- Buying and selling shares and bonds for the company's own account.
The resolution also allows the company to engage in partnerships or hold interests in local and international entities that operate in similar or complementary fields. NBK Capital is now authorized to establish, participate in, acquire, or affiliate with such companies to further its strategic goals.
These changes aim to strengthen NBK Capital’s service offerings and expand its role in Kuwait’s capital market, subject to the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.
