After the expansion of the circle of restructuring financial commitments and debts for many companies, informed sources reported that theThe Industrial Bank of Kuwait held several meetings during the past days with industrial companies that have a delay in the process of paying their loans and financial liabilities towards the bank.
The sources explained that the companies justified their delay in paying their commitments towards the bank by not receiving their financial dues from the government for implementing many projects during the past years, and that they have many components, but not receiving their dues prevented them from paying their financial liabilities on time.
They indicated that the companies asked the bank to extend the payment periods without changing the terms of the contracts, which has not been agreed upon yet, suggesting that the bank address the government agencies that are late in paying the companies' dues, or that these agencies pay the companies' debts to the bank directly.
The subcontracting companies demanded that the Central Agency for Public Tenders put in place specific mechanisms to ensure receiving their payments after implementing the projects.
Industrial companies confirmed that they are not in trouble, and have many sources of income, but in return they have liabilities and operating costs, and the delay in receiving their financial dues leads to them falling into a debt repayment crisis.
