The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) announced its Resolution No. (125) of 2023 regarding the renewal of the securities activities’ license for Watani Investment Company.
Having perused Law No. 7 of 2010 Regarding the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities, its Executive Bylaws, and amendments thereto, the license certificate for securities activities issued to Watani Investment Company, No. (AP/2014/0010), dated 18 December 2020, Article (1) stipulates that securities activities’ license for Watani Investment Company with the Capital Markets Authority was renewed to practice the following activities: (Investment Portfolio Manager, Collective Investment Scheme Manager, Investment Advisor, Subscription Agent, and Securities Broker not registered with an Exchange). This license is valid for a period of three years, renewable, starting from 18 December 2023.
Article (2) of the Resolution called upon all the concerned bodies to execute this Resolution, each within its jurisdiction, adding that this Resolution shall come into force from the date of issuance, and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
This resolution was also based on the request submitted by Watani Investment Company, requesting the renewal of its securities activities, and based on Resolution No. (24) of 2023 regarding the amendment of the approval authorizations for the Supervision Sector's procedures, issued on 12 February 2023.
